Aari work is chain-stitch embroidery worked through a wooden frame, built up with beads, stones and zardosi until the fabric catches the light. We teach the full craft, from a first stitch to a finished bridal blouse, on a schedule and syllabus built around the student.
The motif is sketched directly onto the fabric in lead pencil — the blueprint every stitch will follow.
Fabric is stretched taut across a wooden frame, so no uneven tension creeps into the design.
The aari needle — hooked at its tip — is loaded and readied to pull chain stitches from beneath the frame.
